Western Railroad Discussion > More variety on CP's KC lineDate: 12/31/14 15:42 More variety on CP's KC line Author: AndyBrown Continuing the theme of my post the other day, more interesting consists have been running on CP's 474/475 Kansas City manifests.
1. Yesterday's 475 had a nice Chessie EMD leader, shown passing the Muscatine switchers and assorted goodies at the Muscatine, IA yard office. 2. Yesterday's 474 had a great consist, shown here along the river at Buffalo, IA. 3. Nothing says cold weather like open joints! I wasn't thrilled to see this since I really needed to get home to bed after night shift, but it did make things more interesting. Date: 12/31/14 15:44 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: AndyBrown 4. The track gang is using "fire snake" or something like that to heat up the rail at the open joint.
5. Light power on the B70 job crosses the open joint to go about their business up the river. 6. Highball from the foreman. Date: 12/31/14 15:46 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: AndyBrown 7. Using a hydraulic wrench to tighten the bolts.
8. The reason I stuck around; I wanted to get the Citirail unit in Muscatine. 9. The light sucked here but another good consist came in on today's 475, shown here at the "New Yard" just south of Muscatine, IA. Date: 12/31/14 15:51 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: AndyBrown 10. The crew on today's 474 was waiting at Heinz siding east of Muscatine to meet the 475 with this super sweet "all Ace" (or M-2?) consist.
11. Last shot of the day in low light; the 475 crew is done working the yard and the conductor is walking to the head end. Included in their pickup is one of the Muscatine switchers, returning to Nahant. Thanks for looking! Andy Date: 12/31/14 16:25 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: toledopatch AndyBrown Wrote:

Not sure about the KCS loco. Date: 12/31/14 16:46 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: Ritzville Nice shots, lot a variety out there!

Andy Date: 01/01/15 08:41 Re: More variety on CP's KC line Author: dpc37 No CP had the big idea to cut 50% of our jobs in most all terminals so things are a big mess I made 1 trip
