Surprisingly Good Day For Variety On The BNSF
Author: Ritzville

It was another cloudy cold day with rain on the way in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high of 39 and a low of 31. After reading posts on TO about all the warbonnets going into stored hibernation I felt like I was losing lots of old friends that rolled by the backyard. But to my surprise many warbonnets rolled by the house along with leased units. When the mixed train went by with five 200's up front, I wonder if they are headed for the hibernation storage track. I hope not, they looked mighty nice to me. If all the leased and warbonnets disappear in the future, the fun will be diminished greatly. Here are some of the trains that rolled thru the backyard today.

1. WB 915am manifest train with warbonnet 788, CP 9542 and warbonnet 606 on the point. Had to quick shoot due to sneaking up on me.
2. Another quick shot of warbonnet 606.
3. WB 928am coal train with BNSF 7143 and green and cream 9534-9513 on the pull with DPU.

Those loads are upside down dump beds for haul trucks,
used in mining and large construction projects.

By the looks of them, they're probably from Caterpillar!

I like the MP box car, no graffiti, a rare sight these days.
