Potable water? or extra fuel for self-contained cars + supplies for the Big Game Party!

KC - maybe some extra non-deflatable footballs too

Boxcar must be for the chips, but shouldn't a reefer and the torch car be on there for the hot wings? ;^P

Those extra steps are kept in the vestibule area.

they have much bigger steps than step boxes that can fit in the vestibule , may even have ramps for ADA type access

When UP sends out a big train like this that is going to be a stationary entertainment, venue, those two cars can be expected. This has been the case for well over 15 years.

The Bulktainers contain potable water for the cars, which have to be watered at least twice daily. One carries #2 diesel fuel for the power cars. The box car carries a mind-numbing array of parts, tools and materials.

At least there's still one express boxcar running on the UP.

Wow no steam leading the way on the train, and no E units either. What a shame for the heritage fleet to be in the mess that its in thanks to DL.

It's a business trip not a fan train so no need for steam or heritage units. The trainis made up for Phoenins being a stub end terminal so the utility cars will be on the far side and open platform on the downtown side.

The same could be said of the college world series of which the 844 always had the honors of pulling that train, I would be willing to bet that Omaha would have liked to have seen the E units pulling that train to the big game at the very least. The heritage program is for PR purposes not for fan trips in general. I can't think of more PR than the super Bowl.

I vividly seem to recall UP 3985 making a pair of trips to Houston in 2004. The one in Jan/Feb was for the Super Bowl.
