Western Railroad Discussion > SD-40-2 working the main, East Olympia, Seattle SubDate: 01/29/15 10:14 SD-40-2 working the main, East Olympia, Seattle Sub Author: Bermanator No D4 today so this is a 6-plus photo. Something happened to the lineup that put an SD-40-2 in the lead of a GP39E and a couple of ES44's. This is a NB on main 1 on the Seattle Sub at East Olympia with the Tacoma Rail/UP Olympia Spur in the background. This train was being dog caught and then was through MOW flags for signal work at Centennial. I believe this is a Pasco/Interbay manifest train.
Kinda cool to see SD40's working; the 645's sound beautiful. It was my observation that there is a lot less smoke coming from the EMD's that the emission controlled GE's.
