Western Railroad Discussion > UP 8830E at W. (Soldier) Summit, Utah 1/28/15Date: 01/31/15 09:21 UP 8830E at W. (Soldier) Summit, Utah 1/28/15 Author: the_expediter This must be the local eastbound...DS told him to pick up cars in Helper, Utah...I drove over US 6 Wed. to see my old stomping grounds (D&RGW Mainline) from the late 1970s and 80s...What a sad change...I only saw 2 trains, a westbound welded rail train near Rio, that, due to heavy truck and auto traffic, I chose not to get turned around to chase it...(My mistake, as I only saw this other train pictured)...Another item of interest, is, on both the UP Overland route East of Ogden, and here at Summit at least, UP is putting in new signals...Steve
