Western Railroad Discussion > Raton Sub semaphore question??Date: 02/27/15 15:36 Raton Sub semaphore question?? Author: Contax645 Somewhat recently excellent photos were posted here showing replacement tri-lights next to semaphores around Watrous and Shoemaker, New Mexico.
Anyone out there know if these new signals have been cut over? I hope not. Thank you all in advance. Gary R Clark Griffith, Indiana Date: 02/27/15 16:04 Re: Raton Sub semaphore question?? Author: RS12394 I was by Watrous Wednesday. Five of the six replacement signals were in place, but not in service.
I did not check Shoemaker, but Levy looks intact. Joe. McMillan Date: 02/27/15 18:02 Re: Raton Sub semaphore question?? Author: mapboy Beautiful picture, but I can feel the cold!

Date: 02/28/15 08:49 Re: Raton Sub semaphore question?? Author: 1976 All signals in Shoemaker Canyon have replacements standing. Aside from the Watrous area, the remaining semaphores stand untainted as of late.
I might add that the Intermediate replacements can easily be hidden when shooting from the right angle due to the relative heights of the locomotives and new signals, leaving no trace of them in your photos. Author: highgreengraphics Yup, it takes a bit of practice and forethought to get all the signal heads in the shot, especially at the few semaphore-controlled sidings left where there is a "forest" of 3 in a group, any height helps and a 6-foot stepladder helps, too! === === = === JLH
