C40-8 Leader on the Santa Barbara Sub
Author: rbmn5022

Intermodal repos have started picking up on the Coast again, and my run of good luck in being free when they've run has continued. Two ran today, the second being this Sudden-Long Beach train with a rare C40-8 leader. They're seen at Seacliff meeting 14 and then continuing south. I believe this was ISULBR? I heard the Metrolink DS mention the symbol quick but it wasn't entirely clear.

Great images from the lightly used Coast line.

In that 1st photo, I see how active the landslides are on the face of those cliffs. And above the cliffs appear to be orchards. Any idea what kind of orchards they are--citrus? Avocado??

Oranges and lemons. Avocados don't like salt air. And the Coast Line is busy enough from San Luis Obispo south.

A beauty for sure! Wish I was in one of those RV's for a few days. Beach fun on one side, the Coast Line on the other.

You can rent them. Good way to find out if the family likes RV'ing before you plunk down the big bucks.
