Western Railroad Discussion > Racks At The BeachDate: 03/17/15 11:16 Racks At The Beach Author: walstib Auto racks, that is.
Here's yesterday's edition of the empty auto rack repo train hugging the Pacific Coast Highway at Seacliff, just ahead of Surfliner 784 about 2 in the afternoon. Date: 03/17/15 12:07 Re: Racks At The Beach Author: PasadenaSub Great picture, Brian. Don't Amtrak Surfliners 769 and 784 usually meet at Seacliff around that time?

By going through here at 2, the racks were on target for a meet at Ventura with 769, if it was on time. A couple of months ago the DS sent a similar southbound rack train through ahead of southbound 784, then one of the units on the freight died north of Seacliff. Obviously screwed up the meet and tied up things up for a good hour. You just never know what is going to happen at Seacliff! Date: 03/17/15 12:30 Re: Racks At The Beach Author: Kimball Nice shot. Considering the terrain in the background, that beach is amazingly flat, almost no slope at all.

I saw another southbound(empty well cars) at same location early that afternoon..presumed it was from Fort Roberts, but when we passed there(McKay), there was another baretable with power awaiting coupling and departure in same direction.
