Strange Locos on Stack train in Pomona
Author: engrbill47

While I was being transported from a failed CA DMV visit last Tuesday at around 2:30 ish, I happened to see an unusual locomotive combination on an east bound stack train just east of the Pomona station. The line up was Norfolk Southern, CSX, Norfolk Southern, CSX. No UP power. And my smart phone was in my pocket and was too new to figure out the camera and get a photo. I know about power sharing, but I did not know that the UP trackage would allow a non UP locomotive at the head end.

Unless the train is in cab signal territory on the UP, any engine can lead.

everytime i see or hear San Dimas i can't help think of Bill and Ted

Bill explains, "So please welcome to tell us what he thinks of San Dimas, the most bodacious philosophizer in ancient Greece . . . " "Socrates!" Bill and Ted introduce. Socrates looks surprised.

Ted translates Socrates (So Crates) hand gestures about how he feels where he is ...

Ted : "So Crates LOOOOOOVES San Dimas"

Ox: San Dimas High School football rules.

OOS, Funny movie. Still watch now and then, still get a chuckle to. And count me in on that San Dimas reference. I always think of the same thing.   Ben
