Railroad days returns to Dunsmuir
Author: photobob

June 13th Dunsmuir will once again celebrate Railroad Days. In collaboration Between Amtrak and the Dunsmuir Railroad Depot Historical Society the Amtrak Exhibition Train will be on display from 10am till 4pm. Hope to see a lot of TO members up here to enjoy all the Dunsmuir area has to offer.

Good news. Hope they advertise it in the local papers. Many folks were disappointed with lack of trains displayed. I think you should have a booth Bob. "Meet the legendary Photobob" Dunsmuir stories and photos available within. Lol.

Like this idea! And Bob could then take it on the road to Burning Man in the Black Rock in September!

Question- does the Hardware Store have any timeline on getting the damage to the front of their building fixed so that they can reopen, or are they done as a business?  I missed being able to stop in there on my way to Winterail...

Well being a large city, as Dunsmuir is, it seemed that somehow City Hall could not locate the new permit for rebuilding the front of the hardware store for six weeks. I believe work has renewed on the store now that the permit has been located. For those that didn't know , one of our local gals drove through the front of the store while venturing out into the world from the beauty salon across the street.

Well that is a pleasant surprise! Even shows up on the Amtrak page:

Bob should have a booth... 5 cents for hugs :-)

Better idea....print a life size print of "The Wave" and have a cutout so railfans can reenact the classic scene :-) Reference: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,2873579,2873650#2873650

Bob,

This is great news.

Will the Feather River Rail Society be able to bring down some of their equipment with help from UP ?

I hope to come up from Carmel Valley for Railroad Days.

My best,

M.A. Skip Marquard
