Western Railroad Discussion > Weekend at TehachapiDate: 04/14/15 17:00 Weekend at Tehachapi Author: Krokodil Tehachapi can be feast or famine for train fans, this weekend was definitifely a feast, with plenty of trains on Saturday, and a good showing on Sunday, despite a mid-day lull on both days. Most of the trains were also long (actually very long, as to exceed some blocks in length). Interestingly, UP trains were not as plentyful as BNSF trains, but overall a superb visit with perfect weather, well maybe except the wind, but this is Tehachapi afterall!
Pictures from the Bealville area. Thomas E. Date: 04/14/15 17:03 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: Krokodil Date: 04/14/15 17:06 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: DKay Beautiful photos. The spring time seems very short there.I see all the grasses have gone to seed already.

Dale Smith Date: 04/14/15 21:02 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: busdriver I think BNSF almost always outnumbers the UP trains.
Bryce Date: 04/14/15 21:50 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: zchcsse Very nice series. The hills are brown, but they have a very "golden" color to them. They still look quite nice.

Thanks for posting! Date: 04/15/15 01:18 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: Fizzboy7 Tehachapi: A railroad land like no other. The only way to understand the landscape is to be there. The magnificent pics, as seen here, are just the beginning.

Nothin' new here! Date: 04/26/15 00:18 Re: Weekend at Tehachapi Author: Thomas Yes, these are GREAT pictures! But so many "great picture" responses has me wondering about my computer monitor. It appears, perhaps only to me, that is, that although the content is wonderful, these pics appear to have a dull, pale look to them, at least on my screen. That has me wondering if my monitor is adjusted well.
Here is one of the original images, followed by the same picture brightened-up a bit (closer to what I think they should look like). So which is the better image, the top, or bottom picture? A simple "Top" or "Bottom" answer would suffice. IF most prefer the top image, then my monitor may need to be adjusted to be brighter. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/26/15 00:25 by Thomas. |
