it is with regret and sorrow that I advise of the passing today of Reilly McCarren, chairman of the Arkansas & Misssourii after a brave fight with cancer.  Reilly was a real leader within the regional/shortline community.  He will be missed.

This is a shock. I met J. Reilly McCarren in the 70's when we lived in New Jersey. He always seemed different than the other fans, much more cerebral. So I was pleasantly surprised to learn a few years ago that he was running the A&M. A good guy, and much too young.
