Cajon Pass Road Hazard -- Nails!
Author: E25

I made a quick trip up to Cajon last Monday and wound up with nail punctures in two tires.  The nails were the flanged type used for plywood forming on bridge construction.  'Had to replace one tire.

There's a lot of road construction going in the area on and I suspect the crews are not being very considerate where they are dropping their nails.

Traffic was a real mess, too, with al lot of the "locals" detouring on the old "Route 66" highway (...at 70 per). Not too safe for train chasing.

Was this on I-15? Or HWY 138? Summit Valley Rd?

You must have picked up all the nails, thanks!  I was there Tuesday back and forth a lot and didn't get a flat.
