Was It Worth the 4.5 Hours?
Author: BNSF-6432

It might as well have been. As a late birthday present from BNSF (after turning 17 yesterday) an eastbound left Tulsa, OK with a pair of two different leasors this afternoon but it wasn't exactly an easy catch. After seeing it in Cherokee Yard at 14:00 with the crew on ready to go, I had an errand to run for an hour and didn't think I'd be able to catch it but sure enough, at 16:00 I was making it up to East Tulsa and about that time the TULGAL was pulling up to stop. 2 westbounds made it in and after that, there was no opposing traffic. But the train sat there at East Tulsa for another hour it seemed (never heard any track and time on the radio but I guess that had to be the reasoning) So finally about 18:30 the train got lined out and took off down the Cherokee Sub behind some interesting power.

1,2&3) CREX 1304 and CEFX 6009 take the TULGAL out of town past CP East Tulsa after spending 4 and a half hours in Tulsa today

Happy Birthday to you!  Certainly is unusual power for this area.
