ATSF St. Joseph, Mo. boxcar traffic question circa 1990's
Author: bn2310

Hi all,
Back in the 1980s-1990s time frame, ATSF hauled a good amount of insulated boxcars to and from St. Joseph, Mo.  Does anyone know where these were being waybilled to?  I want to say either Carnation in St. Joseph or Elwood, KS (across the river from St. Joe) or Quaker Oats in St. Joseph.  I shot a lot of pictures of the Topeka, KS-St. Joseph, Mo. local back then and was just going thru them and logging the different classes of insulated boxes.

I've attached a scan of a print taken in April 1990 on BN tracks, after the ATSF had entered an agreement to use BN trackage into Kansas City, instead of using the ATSF branch to Topeka, KS.

Thanks for any assistance,
Tom Parisoff
Boylston, MA
