Happy 4th from Sapulpa, OK...
Author: oklachaser

Happy Birthday America!
Last year I found this little engine sitting across the street from the TSU shop in Sapulpa, OK. A year later it is still sitting there. I don't know what they are planning to do with it but I thought I would post it today since it is red, white & blue.
Photos taken July 28, 2014.

Photo 1:   AEX-MSRX 100009.
Photo 2:   AEX-MSRX 100009 & TSU 109.

Thanks for looking.

That's gotta be the highest numbered engine I have seen or heard of.

After G&W took over the RA properties they  turned back many of the leased power, this engine was on the Ventura County Railroad in Southern CA and its heritige is EX IC switcher rebuild.

Getting back the USA birthday/4th of July theme, I remember being very amused, in a good way at all of the smaller short line RRs and even industrail RRs that painted up in R/W/B. I remember seeing a photo roster somewhere (Trains mag?) of many [if not all] of the patriotic paint schemes running around at the time. It was a really cool time to be an American & a railfan. Nice find, Ronda!
