I heard NS's NYC Heritage locomotive nbr 1066 was heading the U-SNJEOL0-31T towards KC on BNSF's Transcon, so I planned to catch it at 12th street in Argentine .  I also bagged a little something extra while waiting for 1066.  All photos taken 7/4/15.

1) - E/b intermodal increases speed out of Argentine to make the flyover.  The "something extra" was a tardy SWC #4 creeping around the curve.

2) - Closer shot of #4.

3) - BNSF 794 provides some mosquito control as it passes by.  The exhaust plume was way more impressive back at the curve.

I later learned that 1066 was picking up 2 extra locomotives at Argentine.   I drove to the Goddard Ave bridge to get a closer look.

4) - After 2 locomotives added to the consist and a crew change, 1066 departs Argentine Yard.  Why yes, that is a new BNSF C4 in the background leading a container  train on the next track.

5) - In my hurry to chase 1066, I almost forgot to bag the new C4.

6) - The chase was a very short one as I darted back to my intended spot at 12th street to catch it.

Will do! I need to find a compelling reason to convince my wife to go to Kansas City...taking pictures of trains isn't quite enough of a reason!  :)
