Western Railroad Discussion > Warren Buffett goes greenDate: 07/28/15 14:47 Warren Buffett goes green Author: Copy19 Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Energy has joined a dozen major U.S. businesses at the White House to announce more than $140 billion in low-carbon investments, according to a front page story in today's Omaha World-Herald. The newspaper also reported Berkshire's headquarters in Omaha declined to comment on the contrast between Monday's announcement and some of its other businesses, including BNSF Railway.
Berkshire said "because of the way railroads are regulated, Berkshire is obligated to carry the coal and oil." Among Berkshire's pledges is to retire more than 75 percent of coal generation capacity in Nevada in the next four years. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/28/15 15:44 by Copy19. Look at the deal Tesla received for the giga-factory.
Buffett on the other hand, invests in politicians as much as he invests in railroads, candy companies, energy companies, Goldman Sachs, etc |
