Western Railroad Discussion > Day Off TodayDate: 07/29/15 22:08 Day Off Today Author: Ritzville It was a hot day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 89-50. Going to be even hotter thru the rest of the week, UGH! I had a day off from trains so I could take my neighbors to Spokane, WA for errands and to the Casino. It was my first time at the Casino. It was fun even though I left some money at the end, lol, but was ahead of the game at times. Here are a couple of leasers from last evening and a couple of pictures of old SP seachlight signals
1. WB 626pm manifest train with BNSF 6588, PRLX ex-BN 8139 and BNSF 5231 on the point. 2. Another shot of ex-BN PRLX 8139 on same train. 3. WB 806pm grain train with BNSF 6562, UP 5526 and BNSF 4633 on the pull. What is the track speed thru Ritzville? Robert Date: 07/29/15 22:20 Re: Day Off Today Author: Ritzville A couple of snapshots of a couple of old SP searchlights having just been taken out of service East of Tacna, AZ on old SP now UP. Photos taken on 7/28/15 by Gary Dunn with permission to post. Always sad for me to see these searchlights taken out of service that I grew up for all my 68yrs.
6. A sad shot! 7. The new stuff that took over. That's it for this day of play for me! Hope everyone has a great evening and tomorrow! Thanks so much for looking! Larry Date: 07/29/15 22:22 Re: Day Off Today Author: Ritzville 8notch Wrote:

Date: 07/30/15 06:04 Re: Day Off Today Author: ShastaDaylight Great photos Larry, and thanks for sharing them. I too miss the SP searchlight signals as they were one of the last reminders of the SP so many of us knew and loved. Thanks again for sharing, and stay cool in Ritzville...
