Top Ten Global Fleet Operators

As per Journal of Commerce issue July27 2015 listed below are the top ten global fleet operators indicating total ships,Teu capacity, owned ships, chartered ships and market share

Asof July 13 total global liner trade TEU capacity was 19,699,762 capacity aboard 6021 ships. The top ten fleet operators control 65% of the market with 12,807,698 TEU in capacity with 52 percent chartered.

Thanks for posting this interesting stuff.  Is MSC the outfit with the yellow
containers that have a big "M" on the side with smaller lettering?  Just
trying to match up the companies listed with what I see on the road.

"MSC" is Mediterranean Shipping Company.  Most of the 10,000 to 11,000' BNSF intermodals are SLBTLPC1/2 or SLPCLBT1 (if not the generic SCO Southern California Ondock) which is Maersk and MSC containers (#1 and #2 are in an alliance, the P3 alliance with CMA CGM!).  I usually see a sizable cut of Hanjin or COSCO (CYKH alliance) containers with them on these long trains.  LPC is Logistics Park Chicago.

I've seen a lot of "MSC" boxes in Caribbean  and Central American ports, also a lot of "Tropical" boxes.
