Western Railroad Discussion > White Upper Atmosphere Due To Smoke with Variety On The BNSF

It was another Hot white sky day due to smoke in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 92-59. At least at ground level it was fairly clear from smoke haze. Traffic was so-so today with gaps in traffic at times with some variety. Here some of the trains that rolled by the backyard and beyond yesterday aftrnoon-evening and today so far.

1. NS 9393 in the mix of WB 409pm manifest train.
2. EB 422pm stack train with BNSF 6695-7842 and CSX 5486 on the point.

4.  EB 528pm intermodal train with BNSF 5404-5674 and Warbonnet 701 on the pull.
5.  EB 606pm manifest train with BNSF 6537, Warbonnet 778 and BNSF 4695-4990-4802 on the point.

7.  WB 640pm coal train with BNSF 6338, green and cream 9707 and BNSF 9096 on the point with DPU.
8.  EB 700pm stack train with BNSF 4954-4895-7401 on the pull.
9.  WB 1135am manifest train with BNSF 7229-8121-6750 on the point. I did miss several all Orange trains this morning.

11. EB 300pm manifest train with BNSF 5483 on the very point at Bauman Rd., Ritzville. 
12. Warbonnet 759 and CREX 1425 in the head-end mix of same train.

14.  EB 319pm intermodal/TOFC train with BNSF 7814 and NS 6955-9387 on the pull.
15.  EB 335pm manifest train with BNSF 7379-8379 on the point.

Nice catches. The sky doesn't have much color when it is filled with smoke. Thanks for showing the several different locations.

While it may have been smoky in your area today, but a least you got to see the trains and photograph them. Unlike a few days last week. Another good "Ritzville Report".
