Trackwork over Siskiyou Pass

On the way home Monday from a wonderful long weekend on Lake Shasta (where I did get to see a couple of trains cross over the Pit River Bridge) I saw some track maintenance machinery working on the tracks on the overpass above I5 just North of Hilt.

Black bannas everywhere up there, with roughly 2/3's of the ties spraycanned to get replaced.  Sounds like they're getting down to business!

I certainly agree about the semaphores, I miss them too.  The remaining ones were getting kinda cranky, but they sure looked great on the Siskiyou while they were there !
