On The Road Again and A Chance meeting With Bambi
Author: Ritzville

This morning it rained in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with .13 of rain since May. It was't much but was sure nice to see. The rest of the day was blustery with a high-low of 71-54. Had to hit the road for Cheney, WA to do errands. Managed to see a few trains and have a chance meeting with Bambi in Sprague, WA . Here are some of the trains I came across today on the road and in the Ritzville, WA. Need more rain!

1. EB 939am manifest train with BNSF 7958-8184-7135 and NS 9617 on the point.
2. Another shot of NS 9617 on same train.
3. A meet with Bambi while trying to catch a grain train in Sprague, WA. Bambi suddenly jumped in front of my camera.

4. Bambi then scampered down closer to the grain train.
5. DPU 7110 pushing WB 12noon train thru Sprague, WA. Wasn't able to catch fron of train and unfortunately cut most of Bambi out of the picture. I sure messed up on that shot!
6. WB 1226pm coal train with BNSF 6211 on the very point at Mullinix Rd., Cheney, WA

7. DPU BNSF 6129 fading away towards CP Babb on same coal train.
8. UP siding extension and signal replacement looking North from Mullinix Rd., Cheney, WA. Old US&S hooded signals down the track not long for the world.
9. New flashers for Mullinix Rd. for PTC integration on the UP. I'm not sure if pole line will survive switch over to PTC.

Interesting to see a 3x1 eastbound stack train past your house, most you document here are 2x0.

Nice shots---4444 is pretty cool. #6 is a great photo, the lone pine beside the power really adds va;ue.

Nice photos. Good thing Bambi jumped in front of your camera & not in front of the car.

Larry,

Fine photos and some nice variety! I agree with Rhonda and am glad Bambi did not become a hood ornament on your car! Hope the rain this week helps put out the fires and blow away the smoke...

Can't be Bambi.  Bambi was a boy and that's a girl!  LOL

Nice stuff, Larry.
