Well that would be relevant if he asked where the C&NW was, but he asked for UP 1996

Wherever Cecil Junction, Utah is... That's where UP loco trace says it is.

Cecil Jct Utah is in OGDEN, UT where the SP Lucin cutoff joins the UP main and yard.
Cecil Jct is located at mp 781.0 on the Lakeside Sub (Lucin Cutoff).
This info according to the Central West timetable 1 from Altamont Press of 3-2011 or March 2011
Cecil Junction is basically located at the TOP end of OGDEN UT.
I hope this info helps !!

That means it hasn't moved since the 26th. It's apparently still at Cecil Junction.

Looks like the UP 1996 had some computer problems while working the MNPRV 24 and had to be set out on 8/26. The LUJ51 31 "Evanston Local" has picked up the unit today, possibly at Echo, and is taking it to Ogden right now. From there it will be forwarded on to Roper yard for repairs. Likely the Cecil Junction showing on the trace is the next AEI scanner downline from where the unit was set out, and the point at which the computer realized the unit was no longer on the train. The computer then just automatically set out the unit there, even if it was not quite there. For sure the mechanical department knew where the locomotive was.
