Robert Morris Photography Date: 09/02/15 17:52 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: grafvonb49 Fabulous little vignette; of course, Black Butte and Shasta for a backdrop ain't bad...but the machine contributes a primeval dinosaurish quality in front of timeless igneous rock throwers wreathed in clouds...nice, very nice!
Date: 09/02/15 18:08 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: callum_out There's quite a few new ties on the ground between Weed and Black Butte, G&W is serious about
the upgrade. There was an NPR piece Tuesday morning regarding the importance of both the Coos Bay and Siskiyou operations. They interviewed a G&W VP who stressed their understanding of the importance of their shortline operations and impact on local economies. Certainly a far cry from RailAmerica in it's final years. Out Date: 09/02/15 18:42 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: msdgbar Is CORP/G&W upgrading to welded rail too?
Date: 09/02/15 18:53 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: Out_Of_Service the hi-rail vehicle is called a "grapple truck" ... basically a sheet rock truck equipped with rail wheels and and a grapple clamp bucket ...
you have the best scenery Bob ... Bob Ross the curly haired PBS scenery/landscape oil painter would be havin O'gasms using his oils, brushes, painting knives, paint palette and eisel, painting what's in your photos ... Agree, but Bob Ross passed away a while ago..... Posted from iPhone Date: 09/02/15 20:59 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: TCnR Just for clarity, the lesser peak on the slope of Mt Shasta is called 'Shastina'.
The ash cone called Black Butte is still a little more to the right. It stands separate from Mt Shasta, with the western edge directly next to Interstate 5. Another nice photo...Bob. Date: 09/02/15 21:37 Re: Dropping ties in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: Out_Of_Service CPRR Wrote:
