Nice day to take a video of an NS RoadRailer
Author: JoCoLB

It's always great to enjoy a sunny 66-degree Saturday afternoon in Kansas, especially this time of the year.

After getting a good tip from a friend, I headed to the BNSF transcon in Gardner, KS, to shoot a video of one of the last NS RoadRailers passing through Eastern Kansas. This was a good-sized RoadRailer, with 110 truck trailers. It was heading east to nearby Kansas City and then on eastward to the Detroit, Mich., area. This eastbounder originated at Saginaw, Texas.

These RoadRailers are being discontinued west of Kansas City. The last eastbounder out of Saginaw is expected to leave late today, if I have my information correct. This may have been my last chance to video one of these special-purpose trains. The video was taken at 12:41 p.m. (Central Time), Nov. 15, 2015.

Most likely. Loads of auto parts have always gone west.
