1. UP 6612 leads the MRORVW 22 westbound at Emigrant Gap yesterday as I-80 is completely devoid of vehicles as the snow begins to fall again.

2. UP 7238 leads the westbound AGBMI 21 as it works its way over the pass.

We did travel on 80, came up from Sacramento and never went over summit as we figured the east side would be a mess.  CHP/Caltrans got aggressive with the chain controls on the east side of the hill due to whiteout conditions which resulted in a long period of no westbound vehicle traffic.

Rough Travel over Donner today.
If you go slow, you will be OK.
Yesterday was bad, the day before , highway was closed for many accidents.

(Yes --- it is verh hard to drive safely in weather
like that -- because if you go at an appropriate
speed, others may tailgate you.  Too many drivers
are impatient.  Hope everyone gets through this
snowy season OK.)

Nice shots! Great to see snow in the Sierras again!  Also helps to support the argument of why the US needs to have rail lines in times like those shown.
