Date: 03/21/16 15:35 Re: BN SD60MAC's Author: SN711 Some of them are still out running on local trains at various places around the BNSF system.
Wish one would wander into Richmond on the west end. Gary Posted from iPhone Date: 03/21/16 15:43 Re: BN SD60MAC's Author: nygiant I don't think that's true.

At least one was spotted at La Grange a few years back being used as a testbed for another project and some were used at TTCI in Pueblo, CO for what, I dont know. I'm sure somebody on here can fill in the details. Date: 03/21/16 16:10 Re: BN SD60MAC's Author: SN711 Yes, I missed the AC part of MAC. Wish the 60M's would make it into Richmond.

These were not owned by the BN, just EMD demo units. Nathan Z Colorado Springs, CO Date: 03/22/16 06:10 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: nygiant Thanks for the info and photos.
Date: 03/22/16 08:55 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: gnr1938 We were using two of them as a temporary fill in on a hump set at Northtown two weeks ago before I left on vacation.

Once again this is not about the regular SD60M's Date: 03/22/16 11:10 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: loopy7764 Wow I haven't seen those in years. I always liked BN's various testing liveries, remember their LNG SD40-2 set? So do the units in question have desktop controls?

Date: 03/22/16 18:34 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: MitchGDRMCo You'd be quite surprised if you had to use the 60MACs when you thought you had a normal 60M.....would think someone who actually works with the equipment would be able to tell it apart?
Date: 03/22/16 19:21 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: gnr1938 Just because I know how to use the equipment and how to utilize it does not thereby follow. Do you know the details of the computer motherboard you are using? Always some in every crowd.

Any ways, the orignal poster was asking about the SD60MAC's that BN was testing (there were 4 of them). These were the original test units for AC traction motors and the precursors to the SD70MAC's. EMD was actually in the lead for coming out with AC traction motor power for locomotives back in the early 90's. At this time, all freight locomotives (at least in the US) were DC current traction motors. Date: 03/23/16 15:06 Re: EMD SD60MAC's "not owned by the BN" Author: skinem gnr1938 Wrote:
