Western Railroad Discussion > Toto Tuesday: Lost Springs, Found SunDate: 03/22/16 03:28 Toto Tuesday: Lost Springs, Found Sun Author: santafe199 After catching the UP special yesterday down around Durham, KS I doubled back toward Herington. I had grand plans to see if I could get any shots after its arrival. But my ambition was derailed when I found another UP train just getting onto the BNSF at Lost Springs. I ended up chasing this train up to Abilene, where it got back on home rails. You might say I was blinded by the cornball pun in my title…
1. 2. & 3. UP 7938 makes the turn onto BNSF trackage at Lost Springs, KS on March 21, 2016. Thanks for the sunglasses! Lance Garrels santafe199 Edited 2 time(s). (chuckling) That's a really good analogy! This junction should be pretty easy to model... ;^) Ritzville Wrote: > ...pole line looks like it's on it's last leg... You're right. I don't know what the story is here in Lost Springs, but all of the old poles are essentially gone in my old Santa Fe working territory, the Strong City District between here & Superior, NE.
