Sunday in Fairbanks
Author: roustabout

We spent the day doing wekend stuff, including going to Pioneer Park and riding the Tanana Valley Museum line.  Although they were running their 'fake' steam engine, it was a nice ride and we got the deluxe tour when the folks there noticed my BLE hat.  Inside the musem was the jem, Tanana Valley 0-4-0 Porter #1, built 1899, S/N 1972,  and in running condition (but not today, come back tomorrow...).

Later in the day, I made a run by the ARR shops and yard; it was quiet as can be with just SD70MAC 4328 idling outside the shops.

Tomorrow we hit the road for Skagway!
