Help ID this diesel
Author: WrongWayMurphy

Faded lettering says Erie Mining, looks like someone tacked on #43 but Google gives no answers to me.

Any idea what model (Baldwin make?) and lineage?

Shot this in Duluth on Wednesday.

Baldwin S12, perhaps from the Hoyt Lakes MN operation (now closed).

Looks like the full number was 7243.

(Erie Mining Company. Also see: Doug ... 7243. S12 c/n 76125 b/d 10/56 - built for EMCo as #403 - renumbered 7243)

Currrently at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

From their site: "Built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Corporation in 1956, this S-12 was the last locomotive to depart Baldwin's Philadelphia plant before it closed. It was originally built as Erie Mining No. 403, and cost just under $115,000."

Cheers,
Jack
