Variety on the UP in Minnesota

A trip back from Minnesota in 2014 gave me the opportunity to stop in at a few favourite places on Union Pacific's Worthington and Mankato Subdivisions. The heavy business levels across all railroads that year allowed for some interesting trains. All on April 20.

1)& 2) First RCPE/CP train eastbound caught on the south edge of Mankato, MN using UP trackage - 2 worn CSX units(7706,7552) and a CP GP38-2 (4440.)
3) At St James, I saw the MNPVP (N Platte to Valley Park) with a UP leader and 2 CN locomotives trailing. A new crew had just got on to complete the trip to Valley Park.

4) & 5) MNPVP had UP 7395 leading followed by CN 8900 and 2690.
6) MVPNP was DP'd that day. I caught him at Wilder MN I think. You can see the rear of the train just to the left of the lead unit.

I hope you enjoy these.
