CORP in California
Author: wjpyper

While cruising around on vacation in California yesterday, I came upon this train sitting in Gazelle. I couldn't get a good shot of it where it was sitting, so I scooted down the road (old hwy 99) a couple of miles and waited for it. Looks like it was a bunch of empties that had been stored at Gazelle. There's still a bunch of center-beams there.
1) Heading compass south toward me.
2) Going away.
3) Mt. Shasta in the background.

Indeed they are nice images. I've always enjoyed photographing trains there.

While not in California, the CORP's yard office in Medford keeps alive the tradition of the SP's Type B signals.

All the shots are great but #3 is fantastic, a modern shot that could have easily been taken 100 years ago. It's so evocative of traditional railroading.
