Monday Meets: Does this count?
Author: santafe199

Here’s a scene often overlooked in the railroad world we railfans observe. The track inspector out doing his job. It’s pretty simple: before the trains can roll =which lets us get our pictures= these guys have to perform their regular inspections.

1. BNSF 3916 with an eastbound hotshot in main #1 meets a westbound track inspector in main #2 at NR Jct in Emporia, KS on September 17, 2016.

Thanks for looking!

My, have the shrubs grown there! Lance, you better get that little one growing next to Main 2 before it blocks your view.

As I recall amongst the 6 of us KS Gangsters you were the professional (almost) weed-whacker. Maybe you should get you lazy seat cushions out of your comfy Big Sky retirement and come on down and show us all how. All family trips to the east coast taken into consideration, of course...

That's how DAF keeps in shape swinging a weed wacker.  He has a lot of work to do along a lot of places we shot in the late 70's.  He probably uses photoshop to do that now.

It's gonna take more than a "weed wacker" to clear out the foliage trackside these days, that's for sure,
