A Damp Rainy Saturday On The BNSF
Author: Ritzville

It has been a damp dark rainy day, minus the winds of yesterday in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 52-45 and .50 of rain sofar. Traffic was fairly steady with a small lull in the afternoon. Another day of tough conditions for pictures, I gave it a try anyway in the rain. Here the catches from today.

1. WB 913am coal train with BNSF 5975-9019-5728 on the point with DPU.
2. DPU BNSF 9273 on same train.
3. EB 932am grain train with BNSF 8419-6053-6053 on the pull, no DPU.

How was the storm last night?

It calmed down during the night and then the rain picked up this morning and now it's becoming windy again. Couple more soggy days ahead they say. Westside of the state is certainly taking it on the nose with the wild 80mph winds, and rain. Stay safe everyone!

Actually the tank train was a Port Westward, OR, ethanol train.  The 5047 with DPU 7506 rolled through St Helens OR on the P&W clearing town at 1500 hours.  All cars placarded 1987.  94 tanks and two buffers.  The 7172 must have been set out in Vancouver, WA.  Nice to see somthing other than logs and lumber on the Astoria District!   Anyone know train symbol, ?-???PTW?

Thanks for the information. I'll have to do more looking at the placards in the future.
