UP Passenger Special - SF Bay Area

UP ran a priority passenger special (shipper special) I believe symboled PPDOA3  with 2 ET44AC's and two cars (Stanford and Sunset) which traveled over Altamont and through Alviso (1st Photo) on its way to San Jose (2nd Photo, stopped at the depot for a crew change) before continuing South to Gilroy where it was planned to run around the train and return North.

From the conversation with 58, sounded like it would return after it ran around the train at Gilroy, but my scanner battery ran out at Alviso, so I'm not a party to any plans after that. I didn't see any point in chasing South of San Jose in the late afternoon - restricted speed on 101 would not have kept up!

Train rolled through Jack London Square, Oakland, northbound about 8PM. Tied up in West Oakland near the car shop where UP usually stashes its passenger cars over the winter.
