Western Railroad Discussion > Breaking; BNSF Grainer runs into NYC unit.

Just got word that BNSF loaded grain train G-CRKTAC rear ended the UP IG3SE. NS 1066 (NYC unit) was the sole DPU unit on the UP intermodal train. The collision was near Plumb, southeast of Olympia, WA. awaiting further details.

How did he "blow it out of proportion" he stated waiting on details, give the guy a break.

Agreed. Dont believe this post was blown out of proportion by any means.

One might assume that if one train ran into the rear of another train, someone is getting a timeout.

"ran into" suggests some form of contact.  "plowed into" might suggest a more forceful entry / penetration

Nothing on the local news channels in OR or WA. about it. But if true hop the crew is ok. The heritage unit can be replaced but people can't.

This was indeed a low speed impact with no damage to track or derailed equipment. Most likely a restricted speed issue.

Hope there were no crew injuries.  Unfortunately, someone may have to use their job insurance though.

Cute... however in the case of train crews running into things, I can't argue with your sentiment (even though I read your sarcasm).
