Stacker Dupers, a P40 and Triclops Fs in Commerce CA
Author: erielackawanna

Two weeks back, while on hunt for the Vermont Railway GP60 (it never moved, never got to where I was), got some DPUs on a couple inbound stackers, some Metrolink F59s and an Amtrak Surfliner with a P40DC.

Image one is the first inbound stacker with a Dash 9 facing out.

Image two is the second inbound with a GEVO facing out.

Image three is a Metrolink F59PH shoving a train from Oceanside.

Image four is a southbound Surfiner with a P40DC. That was a first for me (of course it looks just like a P42DC, which is fairly common, but I'm a railfan geek, give me my happiness).

Image five is an inbound from Riverside with a PHI shoving.

When I was looking at photo #4 , for a moment, It reminded me of Train # 36 The Desert Wind

I was thinking the same thing.

I rode that train many times out to Barstow and back many times.

That one was one train. You could ride out to Barstow and back on the same day.
But only if the 35 was running late enough. And I think 837 was on a few of the trains.
When I was going out to Barstow.

Nice series, Charles. That Metrolink 859 took me by surprise last October when I caught it on the AV line, it was in fresh paint, great to see it touched up in that paint scheme and obviously, it still looks very good. Nice to see that splash of red and silver back there as well!
