They are Still Going to Pilot Rock:UP NE Oregon Branch

Not very often ,usually only once or twice a month.Only one customer remains on the 15 mile branch and that is Boise Cascade who bought the Kinzua Mill at Pilot Rock.The first two images capture the Local in 2016 and the third picture is the Local pulling into the small yard at Pilot Rock next to the old Masonite facility in 2006.Bill Webb

Back in 1975, when I was the UP agent at Pilot Rock, the local made the run to Pilot Rock 5 days a week only at night using the same engine assigned as the day Pendleton switcher. So your photos are much appreciated, Bill, as they were impossible back in the day.

My favorite is image #2, there are many interesting things to see tied together with the "cross" of the road and the train.
