Western Railroad Discussion > Roseville, CA QuestionsDate: 12/07/16 14:06 Roseville, CA Questions Author: ross Heading down to Roseville, CA for the day on the 19th. Is the best place to go the station/gazebo off Grant & Pacific streets? Or is there a better location? Also, which end of the yard has which subdivisions traffic, i.e. Valley, Donner, etc. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Should I also be packing a lawn chair? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/07/16 14:08 by ross. At Antelope you will get all of Oakland and the rest of the Coast, plus all of the Valley traffic. Depending how they decide to run it, you may get a Dunsmuir train or a Portola as well as the Folsom Turn and a local to Sacto. real quick as does the Hill after maybe 10 AM. Unless the Rocklin Rocket is switching cars in the area you can see all trains departing/arriving east (Rosevile Sub) and north (Valley Sub) as well as any engine swapping at the UP Shops.
Don't wander beyond Atlantic Street into the yard please. ;-) Date: 12/07/16 17:45 Re: Roseville, CA Questions Author: AlcoRSD15 Not good to hang out around the station after dark, as unsavory characters tend to appear there after sunset. Likewise for Antelope.
