Western Railroad Discussion > Cloudy afternoon on the Joint LineDate: 01/05/17 16:15 Cloudy afternoon on the Joint Line Author: SP8595 Seeing some slivers of blue sky once the storm was clearing here in Denver, I headed down South to the Joint Line hoping for some Sun but it was still just a cloudy, gray raw day down South:{
1) A Southbound loaded coal train heading for X-Cel Energy's Comanche plant at Pueblo pulls the grade up Main #1 at Orsa with the BNSF 9282 and KCSM 4651. 2) At one of the only spots with trees, the 9282 crosses the still Santa Fe lettered bridge at Larkspur. 3) The rear DP's also had a KCS Belle, the 4027 and BNSF 9179 ------------------Three More Pictures Posted Below----------------------- Edited 1 time(s). 5) BNSF 8036 heads North on Main #2 with a manifest train while the coal train is stopped in the sag. 6) BNSF 8036 hustles near Castle Rock through some light snow flurries. Off to work tonight so good luck to those that can get the Sun tomorrow:} Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/05/17 16:35 by SP8595. Yes, I know it's heresy to some (myself included) but the same shots in perfect weather wouldn't be all that. Thanks for braving the elements... Robert Pierce Sugar Land, TX SWRails.com Date: 01/05/17 17:07 Re: Cloudy afternoon on the Joint Line Author: PALuvR Those coal loads have accumulated some snow in comparing # 5 with # 1. Very nice series. You didn't need no stinkin' sun!
