Some of the forecasts are pretty wild with multiple FEET over Donner expected in the next day or two. Here at the 3600' level of Greenville (BNSF Gateway Sub) we are having big rain today, supposedly to be followed by 5-8" of snow tomorrow. I have not seen a Gateway train since a southbound on Sunday afternoon and a hy-railer yesterday. Not sure of the status of the FRC, perhaps someone else can chime in.

How bad does it have to get for the rotaries to get called out?

The I-80 cams today look pretty ominus.    It's really piling up at the higher elevations.   Rather see this than rain up there.

Tracks on Donner are just out of service for the spreaders to do their work. As of 2pm, there's a westbound grainer in Truckee which I think will be following a flanger set up the Hill.

Huh?  Is it being operated by a conductor or a driver?

#5 was annulled at Reno this morning, turned, and departed Reno as #6 this afternoon.

Don't know how passengers from points west of Reno go to/from their destinations -- I-80 is shut down by the heavy snows, and many airline flights in northern California has also been cancelled today.   And even if there were flights operating between Reno and Sacramento or San Francisco, it would have been a wild ride.

Fyi, the major SFO Airport has been running in REVERSE runway direction Flow  for most of the
past 4 (four) days  --Southbound flow instead of the normal northbound fflow.
I think 4 out of the past 5 days is some sort of record for the airport.
Frida--SAT--SUN and TUES 10th have all been mostly Reverse ops at SFO .
Only Monday 09th was normal dierection ops at SFO
SFO is currently is REVERS ops as I post this at 5:10PM pst tuesday 1-10-17.
Early sunday moring BOTH SFO and LAX were in reverse direction at the SAME time.
LAX usually runs WEST direction flow for the runways.
This is a huge moster storm as far as the giant blockages in our transport system.
