Foggy night in Chicago
Author: inCHI

This afternoon and evening became very foggy in Chicago. My main and far better camera is broken, but I still had to try for some shots with an 8 year old DSLR. With luck, I caught what I consider the most interesting train you can see on Amtrak/NS/BNSF near Canal St. - a BNSF mixed freight train. Others on here have mentioned that it has only returned to interchanging through this sharp 10mph curve because of a decline in oil traffic.

Here it comes across the lift bridge at 21st St., then curves around the connection. The Amtrak shops behind it are hardly even visable.

And finally, rejoining the BNSF main, with the other signal set up for another outbound Metra.

Despite your second-line equipment, you got some great shots, especially the last one!

I can't imagine any camera giving better photos than you showed here.  Great job and thanks for posting them here.
