Rio Grande at the End of the Rainbow
Author: jimB

The ZNPOA ran with UP 1989 (Rio Grande) Tuesday afternoon. It paused at the West end of Hearst siding (Sunol, CA) on the Oakland Sub waiting for trackwork or inspections to be completed. After about 30 minutes of dark clouds and rain, we got some sun and in the first image, a rainbow.

My initial photos from my favorite spot on the East end of Hearst were too dark to use, and another storm cell moved in before he was cleared through Niles Canyon, so this was a welcome break. Alameda Creek is, I'm sure a source of concern in Niles Canyon right now.

Thanks to jmf1910 for another timely heads up.

Jim B

Great catch! Even Mother Nature misses the Rio Grande, bringing out a rainbow for it. ;)

Awesome catch in stormy California of DRGW Heritage unit.  Glad you ventured out and nailed UP 1989.

Stay high and dry out there!
