Western Railroad Discussion > A few from Riverside, CA today...Date: 03/05/17 16:33 A few from Riverside, CA today... Author: PasadenaSub Got out to explore a little this afternoon. I hadn't really done much railfanning other than downtown since moving to Riverside, CA last May. Today I checked out the Ivy St. overpass of the BNSF mainline, which also spans the 91 freeway. Later went over to McLean Anza Narrows Park to get some views of the UP at Arlington and to see the big bridge over the Santa Ana River for the first time.
1&2) BNSF westbound intermodal led by SD70ACe 8406 coming and going at the Ivy Street overpass. Not much parking around here, but made it work. 3) Looking east at UP Arlington, with the bridge over the Santa Ana River to my back. I presume the ex-MP GP38-2 tied down in the small yard to the right is used to switch the Rohr Industrial Spur that I asked about a few days ago here.. 6) UP 639 tied down for the day Date: 03/05/17 16:37 Re: A few from Riverside, CA today... Author: PasadenaSub Date: 03/05/17 17:04 Re: A few from Riverside, CA today... Author: CR3 Haven't seen many pictures of that bridge Richard. Brought back lots of memories of running trains over it. I understand that the bridge is all masonry with no rebar in it and yet it has withstood a lot of earth shakes over the years.
