Why run NS 264 and NS 226 instead of them running Together ? They both depart out of the same terminal and arrive @ the Same Terminal. Why does 264/265 never have DPU ?

Actually, NS 264 is from BNSF QLACAUG via Memphis, TN. UP 226 is from UP ZLCAI via Shreveport, LA.

What this means is the two trains originate from different points
and may not always arrive together, so it's easier to send them
out separately. Bean counters love you.

NS226 originates out of a UP ramp in LA and NS264 out of a BNSF ramp in LA. They run entirely different routes to Atlanta. First time they are on the same track is at the Austell GA area just outside Atlanta.
226 and 264 are each usually 7000ft trains.
NS264 is 95% JBHunt loads. NS226 handles no JBHunt traffic. Two different origin railroads.
