It was partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 61/42. Weather will be unsettled for the next week. Traffic was steady today so far. Here are the catches from today and a few from yesterday.

1. WB 543pm coal train with BNSF 8496-8570 and CREX 1338 on the point with DPU and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.
2. DPU BNSF 5929 on same train.
3. EB 559pm grain train with Big Blue GECX 2037 and BNSF 8019 on the pull with DPU.

Those Heritage hoppers must just stay on the main line. Despite several grain trains a week through here, I have never seen one on the (NorCal) BNSF Gateway Sub. You spot them all the time!
