Western Railroad Discussion > Montana Rail Link Livingston & Billings area Three more questionsDate: 05/25/17 04:30 Montana Rail Link Livingston & Billings area Three more questions Author: frankgaron3 Hi All:
Three more questions please: How many trains a day on average between Bozeman, Livingston, Laurel and Billings? Are there certain times typically busier than others? And what is the typical mix between Montana rail link and BNSF trains? Thanks to all who took the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it! Frank Date: 05/25/17 08:01 Re: Montana Rail Link Livingston & Billings area Three more quest Author: fbe There is an MRL local east out of Billings to the refineries. There is an MRL transfer between Laurel and Billings. There are the MRL trains LM/ML (Laurel-Missoula/Missoula-Laurel) west of Laurel. Everything else will be a BNSF train with BNSF or foreign run through power.
There will likely be more than 20 trains any day but some will be after dark. You can take photos as late as 9:00 pm this time of the year. Nice light.
