Western Railroad Discussion > Four Engines, Four Roads!Date: 06/14/17 11:00 Four Engines, Four Roads! Author: lee_uintah This EB train was heading up Weber canyon (Utah) on February 15, 2017. I caught it first in Uintah at the mouth of Weber Canyon, and then again at Mtn Green. UP, NS, KCS, and CSX units were at the head of the train. Then there were 103 cars, followed by two UP mid-train DPUs, and another 53 cars. Awesome!

of the word (snow of the ground, Feb, in that part of the country -- brrrr!!). That is a GREAT catch -- 4 locomotives, each from a different railroad, and all facing forward, "elephant-style". And thanks for counting all the cars, too. Talk about a LONG train -- 159 cars total! Wow! Did you know ahead of time what the lash-up was? Or was it just pure luck? And thanks for finding a good spot where you could video the entire train without any vehicles getting in your way. You did luck out a lot at your second location because no train came by on that near track -- whew! Was that also luck, or did you know ahead of time that no train was going to be on that near track? verbal commentary. did not detract from the video at all for me. Everyone is different, so some will like it and some will not. Date: 06/14/17 18:17 Re: Four Engines, Four Roads! Author: atsf121 Great catch!

It was luck to catch this lash-up of engines. I saw the train come by my house first. I live 1 mile to the west of the first location in the video at the mouth of Weber canyon. So I hopped in my truck, caught a stop-light just right, and managed to catch the train first at the mouth of Weber canyon. (But I had to stop on the freeway edge, something I don't usually do. Lots of traffic.) Then I drove about 5 miles east to the second location, Mountain Green, to video the engine lash-up again. Luckily no WB train came by on the close track to block the view of the EB. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/14/17 19:53 by lee_uintah. Date: 06/14/17 19:52 Re: Four Engines, Four Roads! Author: lee_uintah PDT, thanks for being direct and honest. If I know I am going to post a video, I usually do not comment. But on most of the videos I make (for myself), I do talk to help me remember where I am, and when. Thanks for watching.
