Western Railroad Discussion > Sallisaw, Okla., train derailment?Date: 08/13/17 20:54 Sallisaw, Okla., train derailment? Author: JoCoLB Any of our fellow TO members in Oklahoma have any good information or pictures from a major train derailment on the Union Pacific Railroad in the Sallisaw, Okla., community on Sunday? I saw a brief report on a Kansas City TV station. It looked like some cars wound up in a creek or river.

Five homes were evacuated for caution as liquid petroleum gas was involved in the derailment but no leaks reported. Also causing a school to be closed tomorrow as a result of the derailment. Lots of rain fell in that area so it appears to be related to weather as can be seen from the footage.
